While shopping for a large screen television, I had considered the Toshiba TN-43V71 and this model- the Sony KP-43T75.
KP-43T75 Advantages: Thinner (shallower depth-only 20") then most Rear Projection TV and Direct View TV's(Standard TV's); Lighter (about 140 lbs) than most Direct View TV's; and Larger screen viewing area (43").
CRT Advantages: Wider viewing angle (both vertical- 55 degrees and horizontal- 130 degrees); and Shorter minimum viewing distance (only 5 feet).
Although the KP-43T75 projection TV has a larger screen, it is lighter and can be moved more easily. It also is a good choice for apartments or other smaller living spaces.
I would recommend buying the optional stand (SU-43T3) because without it the TV seem to be a little low for most normal sitting positions. The stand solves this problem of being a little low and it looks better with it. The stand has two shelves to and is just find for a VCR and Game system..
KP-43T75 Connection: -Component Video In: 1 -S-Video Inputs (Rear/Front): 2/1 -Composite Inputs (Rear/Front): 2/1 -RF Outputs: 2 - Monitor Output: 1
I would recommend renting or buying the "Video Essentials" DVD, or "Avia Guide to Home Theater" DVD to properly calibrate this TV since factory setting are pretty bad. If you don't feel like spend the extra money then you may just need to decrease the PICTURE (contrast), BRIGHTNESS, and SHARPNESS settings to achieve the best picture quality.
Overall I think this Sony 43' TV is a great investment if your in the market for buying a new Projection TV. You'll get excellent picture quality at an excellent price.

The Sony KP-43T75 projects images from the rear onto its 43-inch BrightView screen using three high-performance hybrid lenses and three complementary picture tubes. The F1.05 lenses and optical coupling tubes combine to deliver a bright, sharp picture for movies, sports, video games, and traditional TV programming, letting users enjoy the large format without losing clarity or resolution. As a special bonus, the KP-43T75 rear projection TV is just over 20 inches deep, meaning its footprint won't take up half the living room or den, yet it still offers a wide 160-degree viewing angle so viewers can watch from the sofa, chair, floor, or across the room. Among the technologies employed by the KP-43T75 are a Flash Focus system, which automatically adjusts the color alignment for immediate satisfaction, and a dual-tuner picture-in-picture, which lets users enjoy two distinct programs on the main screen and a smaller inset window.
Fortunately for users, the features don't stop there. The TV also includes favorite channel preview (the ability to sample up to eight channels without leaving the current station), several picture modes (vivid, standard, movie, and two custom options), jump channel, a freeze option (perfect for capturing addresses or phone numbers), and parental control for users who want to restrict their children's viewing options.
The TV's audio package includes a 34-watt speaker system (17 watts x 2), MTS stereo decoding, a simulated surround mode that creates a surround effect for mono broadcasts, a surround mode that works similarly for stereo feeds, and a BBE audio mode that centers the sound intensity as though users were sitting before an orchestra. Viewers can also adjust the bass, treble, and balance, or enjoy a secondary audio broadcast of the same program when available (typically in another language). The TV connects to other components through the component video input (ideal for DVD players), two S-video inputs, three composite inputs, and Control S, audio, and monitor outputs.
What's in the Box TV, remote control, two AA batteries, user's manual.
