They sound good, the big bass speaker is great!
I am using these in a very small bedroom, in my context they sound very good. Their size is strange, they are small but long... the center is actually smaller then the rest. Also, the stands they come with block the speaker wire connections so you have to remove the stand to disconnect the speaker, which is only a very minor annoyance and not noticeable once everything is set up and in place.
Easy to hang on the wall as they are light, I used two 3M picture hangers (velcro like) and they do not fall off!
As per instructions I set the speakers to SMALL and crossover at 90Hz.
The center/left/right speakers lack the punch needed to deliver a full sound range. And you are often left with a noticeable lack of low end effects on explosions and gun shots.
Dialog is always crisp and clear, and the high end spectrum sounds fantastic.
The self-powered bass is energetic, powerful, and fairly tight.
For surround speakers these are nice, as it is rare for there to be much low end booming from the back, they hold their own very well.
What I have done is replaced the right and left speakers with a set of paradigm speakers, and am using the fronts from this set as two additional back speakers in a 7.1 set up.
My next upgrade will be to the center speaker so that I can get a full range of sound from the front.
