(More customer reviews)I have owned the BIC America DV64 speakers for 3+ years. My previous speakers were the Electro-voice interface A. These were the first computor designed speakers using a passive radiator instead of a tuned port. As these aged I was unable to get replacement drivers and they began to loose quality. Anyone who remembers these speakers will remember the accolades they recieved from all of the audiopole mag's for their brilliant clarity and astounding tight, smooth and resonant deep bass. As a professional classical musician for more than 45 years I was desparate to find replacements with the same qualities (given good source material) of accurate instrument timbre, smooth frequency response, tight bass, good high frequency dispersion, and proper instrument orchestral placement in the stereo imaging including apparent front to back imaging. Piano is one of the harder instruments to reproduce. The DV64's present you with the crisp clarity Of the hammer stricking the string of a fine Steinway including the shimmer of all the overtones. Of all the speakers out there a few met these criteria but fell in the $2K to $3K a pair range. When I heard the DV64's I was blown away with the quality at a price level that usually goes along with boomy, screechy, junk. I have never regretted my decision. These are truly musical speakers.

Whether used as a traditional stereo speaker or a front speaker in a comprehensive surround sound system, each BIC America Venturi DV64 two-way tower speaker is designed for high performance. The speaker features dual 6.5-inch poly/graphite woofers and dual passive radiators to ensure impressive mid tones and extra bass extension. Meanwhile, the 0.75-inch soft dome tweeter reproduces the high frequencies with confident, silky results, creating a frequency response of 29 Hz to 21 kHz. In addition, the DV64 speaker is powerful enough for almost any application, with a maximum recommended amplifier power of 200 watts and a minimum of 10 watts.
Listeners will also appreciate the speaker's elegant appearance, which is topped off by the gracefully tall profile and black laminate finish. For stereo applications, listeners should purchase two DV64s, but for surround sound applications, the speakers perform particularly well when matched with other BIC America models, which are tonally matched to deliver a balanced audio profile. The company recommends using its DV62si speakers for the rear channels, the DV62CLR-S as the center speaker, and the V1215 subwoofer for top-level bass performance. All the speakers in the DV line are magnetically shielded to prevent video interference when located near a TV or monitor.
The speaker measures 8.5 by 38 by 9.25 inches (W x H x D) and carries a generous seven-year limited warranty on parts and labor.
