(More customer reviews)If you purchase a home that is pre-wired for surround, it may come with each speaker terminal mounted on a single-gang electrical box (or J-box) with a blank plate covering it. You can get any normal wall mount for your speakers, but most mounts do not mount on a J-box and you'll end up with a plate next to the mount. I wanted something cleaner and this mount does the trick. The plate itself is the mount.
This thing is pretty universal, and comes with screws and mounting options for various speakers. I installed my Sony satellites without a problem.
Using these mounts I kept my install clean.
It's also worth note that these can also be mounted directly into a stud or drywall, but these are a little pricier for that application and there are other options out there that do the job cheaper.
I'm absolutely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend them to anyone who has pre-wired surround installed with single-gang J-boxes.
